Title: Mario Maker Announced at Digital Event

Rumor is now reality.

Mario Maker for Wii U was shown during the Nintendo Digital Event.

Players will be able to make their own Mario levels using the GamePad's touch screen, with art styles from both the New Super Mario Bros. series and the original Super Mario Bros. NES game shown. Players can switch between the two looks with the tap of an icon.

Mario Maker is due for release in 2015.

The trailer was really nice and I like being able to change between mario art styles

I was a bit surprised this turned out to be real, even though the leaked photo looked legit. It just didn't seem like something Nintendo would do, but it's nice that they are.

I'm also surprised it isn't coming out this year, this doesn't look like something that should take that long to make.
