New Game Boy Player for Nintendo GameCube Plays Game Boy Games on Television

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23, 2003--Today, Nintendo's portable Game Boy®, the most successful video game system in history, makes its homecoming on the television screen with Nintendo of America Inc.'s introduction of the Nintendo GameCube(TM) Game Boy® Player.  

The accessory makes it possible to play more than 1,300 Game Boy games on your TV through the Nintendo GameCube(TM) console.  

For a limited time, consumers can receive a free Game Boy Player when they purchase a Nintendo GameCube system (MSRP $149.99). Game Boy Player is available for an MSRP of $49.99 when sold separately. The Game Boy Player connects to the bottom of the Nintendo GameCube, matching the footprint of the system, and allows players to use either the console controller or Game Boy® Advance to direct on-screen action. Game Boy Player start-up disc, required for use, is included.

• Connected -- Attach the Nintendo GameCube(TM) Game Boy® Advance cable (sold separately) to the Nintendo GameCube and the Game Boy Advance becomes the controller
• Reader-friendly -- Connect the e-Reader(TM) accessory and slide specially-designed cards to unlock new games and experiences
• Multi-player -- Link via Game Boy® Advance Game Link® cables to see the entire action on the TV screen, while other players view their own action on the screen of their linked Game Boy Advance systems

  The ability to play all Game Boy games on the road and on a TV screen at home gives players even more reasons to own both Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance. Alright before I get stoned, I'm probably one of the few forum members who's hesitant to buy one.

*dodges the flames and stones being thrown*

Why you may ask? Because my television is shared with my familiy, so when I do get the TV to play games, I'd want to play my GC. I take pride that I can go upstairs to my room or wherever to play my SP and not get Inturrupted (I wanna watch the news son, so be off in a few minutes)

Are their anystores that show the Game Boy Player in action? If I can see it working right in front of me, not some video, it could be enough to lay down the cash.

No not really, but I got mine today and I'm a very proud owner of one =)

Now I can play Game Boy games on my TV screen without squinting on the screen. If you have a GBA, you can use it as a controller if the GCN controller bugs you so much. Though I havent had much of a problem using the control stick on games. I had some problems on Doom though, but I can probably get over that. Also, now that I have a real 2nd GBA, I can play linked games now =D Horray!

Now I need to convince my friend to bring his Cube for some Zelda Tingle Tuner fun...
