Title: Super Mario Bros. 3 Coming to Wii U and 3DS Virtual Console in April

Super Mario Bros. 3 is set to arrive on the 3DS and Wii U Virtual Console in North America on April 17.

Along with the announcement of several Game Boy Advance titles heading to the Wii U in April, it was announced that the 1988 NES classic will be arriving stateside in April. Announced some time ago for both systems, there had been much speculation as to why there hadn't been a release yet.

I don't really want to sound negative but I can already play Super Mario Bros 3 on my Wii U using my Mario Anniversary Disc Nintendo put out awhile ago.  Yeah, it's missing some features that will be included on this VC release for the Wii U, but for all intents and purposes I'd rather have something else that I've never played before.

I have the Mario Anniversary disc as well so this news (while still cool) just doesn't excite me either.

How was this not in the first batch of games when they launched virtual console on Wii U?

Hey we're getting the GBA version of Mario World on the Wii U in April despite the fact that the SNES version is already on the system.  So it's only a matter of time before the GBA version of Bros 3 hits it as well.  Of course if Nintendo actually bothers to include all the e-Reader levels is a whole different story.

My thing is they've rereleased that game enough times they could do a best of version.

It doesn't really matter that much. I can't think of anyone who has been waiting for this game to come out.

I'm going to assume this is sarcasm, because I threatened to go on a hunger strike until Nintendo released this.
