Title: NFRIT Solid 16: Viewtiful Joe (1) v Beyond Good and Evil (4)
Post by: Shaymin on March 25, 2014, 09:19:08 AM
Two 2003 Gamecube games collide in the first second round matchup of the NFRIT. One had an easy victory over a DS RPG classic, the other had a harder than expected matchup over Professor Layton. Which will emerge victorious here and move to the Eager 8?
Viewtiful Joe: This flashy member of the legendary Capcom Five, Viewtiful Joe's amazingly detailed art style and character action made it stand out even from the platformer-loving Gamecube crowd on its 2003 release. Hideki Kamiya's first game as director, the lessons learned here are still seen with modern classics such as Wonderful 101.
Previous Matchups: Lost to Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door in NWR March Madness, beat The World Ends With You (R1)
vs Beyond Good and Evil: Overshadowed in its own year of release by Wind Waker and later by its own publisher's Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Beyond Good and Evil is often considered Michel Ansel's seminal work. The story may be familiar, as a battle of hope and rebellion against tyranny, but the game's beauty makes it a must play on any platform.
Previous Matchups: Beat Professor Layton and the Last Specter (R1)

This is a hard choice.

One time I had to choose which one my 2 kids would live and which one would die. I'm basing that decision for how I will vote here.
