The Natsume platformer is finally coming to the 3DS eShop.

Yumi's Odd Odyssey is launching on the North American 3DS eShop on March 20 for $29.99.

Publisher Natsume originally planned for it to come out earlier in the year, but the game hit some snags along the way, delaying it to mid-March.

The first ever appearance of the Umihara Kawase series in North America, Yumi's Odd Odyssey originally came out in Japan last summer. The 2D puzzle platformer features online leaderboards.

I think Natsume was hinting about this being localized on Twitter the past week or so. It's nice to see a new franchise formerly exclusive to Japan get more exposure like this.

We've known it was going to be localized for months...

:Q $30 for a download?

>:( I don't think so!

I might have grudgingly paid that much for Ace Attorney 5, but that was because of the legacy of the series (It's really good!) and I was using a $50 eShop card I won in a contest.  But for Yumi's Odd Odyssey?  No, not for $30 unless it was to be a retail, physical copy of the game.  And this is only a download.

The game would not do well enough at all to justify the costs of a retail release. It's nice to have the option to play the game for those who want to, and I assume it has a lot of content since it was a retail release in Japan, right?
