Title: Super Mario Kart Arriving on Virtual Console in Europe in March

Buy it and get a discount on Mario Kart 8 on the eShop.

Super Mario Kart is coming to the Wii U Virtual Console in Europe on March 27.



Those who purchase the game will be able to save the cost of the SNES game off of a digital purchase of Mario Kart 8 when it arrives on May 30. There is no word on such a deal for the North American or Japanese markets.



Originally released in 1992 for the Super Nintendo, Super Mario Kart was the inaugural title in the Mario Kart series. It is already out on Wii Virtual Console.

Wow, they finally decided to use the Virtual Console to hype an upcoming release.
Even better, they're also offering a discount if you buy both!!!


Hopefully they'll do it with Smash Bros too (yes they'd have to do an N64 VC, but we need that anyway!


Could they possibly do something similar with Xenoblade/X???

I have to say, that's a really neat idea.

It feels weird to say in regards to Virtual Console, but...well done Nintendo?

NOA has already used the Virtual Console before to promote new releases. Remember when they released Metroid and Super Metroid on the Wii Virtual Console right before Metroid Prime 3: Corruption came out on Wii?


Glad they are offering a discount, though I don't think Super Mario Kart is that good LOL.

Uh.... What did some of you think Nintendo of America just did today? They released NES Open Tournament Golf to hype up the upcoming NES Open Tournament Golf U. It only releases tomorrow-- y'know, the day big Nintendo releases are put out nowadays?

Kid Icarus had similar deal, where you could get 3D Classics game for free if you bought 3DS game for some time.
