Is an oil change mini-game in the works for Mario Kart 8?

Nintendo of America and Pennzoil are working on a cross-promotion of Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U and Pennzoil's Platinum Motor Oil.

There will be a go-karting event inspired by Mario Kart 8 at the South By Southwest festival, March 7, called “Mario Karting Reimagined.”

A promotional website, motoroilremagined.com will be launching on March 5.

I really, REALLY thought I accidentally clicked the funhouse for a second after reading the article title.
 
That said, it's a neat idea.  I hope Nintendo continues to find creative ways to promote their stuff.  I still miss the days commercials like the old N64 Smash Bros were commonplace.
