Title: My GameCube died.
Post by: NinGurl69 *huggles on June 16, 2003, 05:31:51 PM
It started choking, giving "cannot read disc" errors the minute my friends and I popped in SSBM last Friday nite the 13th. It worked flawlessly over the weekend, allowing me to play Mega Man Network Transmission which was dropped off at my doorstep late Friday by UPS & Capcom (got the free t-shirt!). I guess that was its dying wish. Today, it refuses to advance beyond the purple GC boot logo. It's glared thru my tv for the last time. Dark forces are at hand!
The funeral will be held, here.
*cries*

the same thing happened to my friend. Nintendo fixed his system for free as well. Quit whining!
Ps: putting that evil number in your name is sort of like saying you support every evil in the world. Really, really bad Kharma bro. maybe that's why your system died?

Ah it makes it easier and all the names I like are always taken. I have a hard time remembering so i try to keep things simple.. Super for SNES , Link for LoZ, 666 for evil... SuperLink666 evil link from zelda

Hey, PIAC, are you *really* serious about that? That would help compensate for some of my losses; cuz by buying a new system I'd: 1) get the Platinum GC I've always wanted. 2) get a new controller to replace my worst one (of four). 3) sell Zelda:WW + the Demo Disc for $40 4) have 2 sets of power cords so i can easily move my system upstairs or downstairs to my room (where i capture video) or my living room (where the big screen is).
Would you really buy my dead GameCube for $20 (console ONLY; no cords or anything)?

**moment of silence for broken Gamecube**
Yeah, anyway, you seem to be really hyped up about this game nite thing. Hope you have fun.
Sounds like everything is working out fairly well for you. I hope my Cube continues to work, since I prefer black to platinum and I've already got all the games and stuff I want, and my controller s work fine, but that's cool for you.

I feel for you Professional. I really do. My own GameCube has been just booting up to the system menu off and on lately, and I am a little worried myself. I don't know what I would do if it died completely on me.
I hope that Nintendo can fix it for you though.

You can always do something kinda Illegal that requires a $150....but hey you get a free game too.
You buy another gamecube (same color of course), then you get the free game of your choice. Anyways, once you get home switch the gamecubes and swap the id's (if needed, check reciept if the Id's are the same then swap). Take it back, if they say that you need to bring the game in, well do it...no loss there. They most likely won't, becuase customer service doesn't keep track of deals they just read what's on the reciept. This is just a way of getting around the system becuase if your warrenty in through you'll have to buy a new one anyways.
This is Illegal remember, do it at your own risk. Don't bann me, I stated that this is illegal many times.

Thanks for your kind words, everyone.
But the story is not over, yet.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS UP WHY MY CUBE.
It doesn't seem to be dead, but rather, UNDEAD.
This son-f-a-bich might be possessed. It refuses to function propperly outside of my hometown. It worked during the weekend while I was home. It DIDN'T WORK AT ALL when i spent the earlier part of this week at my apartment an hour's drive away. Now I'm back home, AND IT WORKS FINE AND ^%)(&*^$% DANDY.
To add mystery to it all, i previously mentioned that I wanted a Platinum GC w/ Free game w/ Bonus disc. I visited a Target, a Walmart, and a Toys R Us consecutively, and none of them had all three key ingredients at the same time, so I never bought a new system bundle yet. It's as if I'm not meant to get another GameCube.
I'm cursed.

To clear something up, every Friday night is "Game nite + dinner" with my friends. This Friday is more special, though, cuz a friend I haven't seen in a while from out of town will be joining us.
