They will announce that due to reaction on the internet, Cranky Kong is being removed from the upcoming Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. This will delay the release of the game by several months.

This Direct has a lot that it will have to do to convince the public that the WiiU is a good investment.

To me, that's the best-case scenario of what they announce for Wii U, and I think i'm being optimistic when I say that.

I look forward to the parade of 3DS games we already know about & Banana Slamma footage, ending in yet another Bayonetta 2 teaser and 5 seconds of X footage with characters running through an area, doing nothing.

Please Understand.

That said, I still have two NFR 2013 predictions on the line here that Iwata can make come true tomorrow by announcing a 2.5D 3DS Metroid game or a Majora's Mask remake.

My expectations couldn't be any lower, so unlikely to disappoint unless Nintendo admits they are just throwing in the towel on Wii U as a system.

We'll at least get another Smash Bros character revealed.  August Wii U Direct had Luigi and Octobers had Sonic, so at least there's that to look forward to.

The scene: Nintendo Headquarters. 24 hours after the NPD numbers have been made public.

We see Iwata, in what seems to be a full on panic attack. His suit is crumpled. His tie hangs loose, the knot by his chest, near his heart. It's almost like the moment before a hanging. Just before the noose begins to tighten. He is pacing the hallways, bananas and other fruit strewn across the bland, beige carpeted floor. He opens a door, then another, then another. And so forth. He's looking for something but he just can't find it. The walls feel like they are getting bigger, he feels like a man lost in his own creation.

But then...he notices something.

 A door.

But thats's odd. He's looks at it like he's never seen it before in his life. And by the looks of it, he's not the only one. There are cobwebs all over, and a strange marking on the door. Slowly, Iwata gathers the courage to open the door. It makes a ghastly sound!!! But even worse...is what he sees inside.

Developers! Developers thrown about every which way!!! Some look...mangled beyond recogniton! Their faces scarred. Beards so long they must not have seen a razor in months. Belies nonexistent, bones poking about every which way. Such terror! Such horror!

Out of the corner of his eye Iwata spots one of them. He's still alive!!! He's crawllng on the floor. Iwata doesn't know whether to run or defend himself. He stays still, glued to the spot like a moth glued to the flame. The developer crawls to Iwata's feet, takes out a portable hard drive and with his last breath mumbles something incoherent. Iwata slowly lowers himself, picks up the hard drive and starts to examine it. He sees words, written in blood. Iwata lets out an audible gasp as he reads the two words, written in blood across the hard drive casing.

"Yarn Yoshi"

Suddenly, Iwata's complexion changes! He lets out a smile and darts out of the room, developers still strewn about, some still clinging to life. He stops only to fix his suit and tie. Just before he reaches the conference room he picks up a banana from the floor. He stares at it intently.

We zoom back. The date is Wednesday December 18, 2013. The time? 10:59 PM JST. Iwata steps inside the conference room.

The door closes. The cameras turn on.

/scene.

The Wii U's future is hanging by a thread. So when life gives us thread, we take that thread and turn it into YAAAAAAARN YOOOOOOSHIIIIIII!!!!!

From a land time forgot in a secret handed down by an ancient order of monks of a religion that has passed from the memory of man comes the legend of an idea so great and so powerful it is said that whoever can steel their mind, body and will to understanding it and bringing it forth unto reality will be able to control a wealth greater than that of Midas, El Dorado and the Queen of Sheba combined as well as dominate over all who would oppose this one in a manner greater than the mightiest abilities of Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and Genghis Khan and be able to forge and shape the future destiny of the world for a millennia to come. That secret is now ready to be unleashed upon us! Prepare yourselves for the destruction of the world as you currently know and understand it for it is all about to change!! Nintendo has made the secret a reality and Iwata is now about to use it!!! Bow before the glorious, terrifying and utterly magnificent new reality that is YAAAAAAARN YOOOOOOSHIIIIIII!!!!!
