Title: Multicolored 3DS XL Charge Cradles Sold Out Within an Hour

They weren't kidding about "limited quantities."

Every color of Nintendo's new multicolor 3DS XL charge cradles are now completely sold out. 

The cradles, which became available today on Club Nintendo for 500 coins, sold out within the first hour.Available colors included red, blue, green, yellow and white. This isn't the first time a Club Nintendo reward has sold out very shortly upon release, the Nintendo 3DS Game Card Case recently experienced a similar level of demand. 

There is currently no word on when, or if, Nintendo will replenish stock of these items.

Woot, scored a yellow one to go with the Zelda XL I preordered right before. :P


Hope they get more in for anyone that missed it though. I still wish I could get my hands on that gold nunchuk that I was like 200 coins short on at the time.

I somehow managed to snag a yellow one (all others were sold out at the time) and when I went back to the Club Nintendo homepage the cradle was 'sold out'.


Think I snagged the last one.... :: phew ::

I refreshed the page for 5 hours this morning until they finally popped up and nabbed a red one right away. Whew!

I scored a red one to go with my Zelda XL next month. That way I'll have a garnet & gold theme going to show my FSU colors :)

I'm going to use the same strategy on this as I did to get a Wii back in 2006. Sure, I missed the initial supplies, but I'll just get one...somehow

Yeah, I nabbed a blue one right as it went up.  Took me 4 tries to get the confirmation, but it went through and I got my cradle!

Given that I had to do this on my phone and was already over my data limit, I probably could have just bought one from Nintendo directly and saved myself the hell of trying to order it... but I did manage to sneak out one of the last blues to go with my current XL.

Returned from travel to find our home internet had been disabled. Only got back online today. My hopes weren't very high... but it sucks to find out these prizes, something I really wanted and would've used, disappeared so quickly.


Oh well.  Maybe I'll get a T-shirt.

Never even had a chance...

Hopefully they'll have more to go around for the restock. I know the second round of the golden Nunchuk and the 3DS Game Card case were up for much longer than the first time, which is how I got one of those.

Kind of excited to hear that there might be a second batch available. Some sources contradict this, but since the cradle is still listed on Club Nintendo under the "Currently Unavailable" section instead of being removed entirely I'm going to remain hopeful.
