If you've heard any comments from Kevin Smith when he directed him in Cop Out, this should surprise no one.

That's assuming you believe everything Kevin Smith says, though.  Kevin Smith comes off as a bit of a drama queen, sometimes.

So...to continue the puns...

How can Sylvester Stallone even remotely say that Bruce Willis' career is a "failure"?

I mean, I'm no fan of either one, but I can name a multitude of movies that Willis has been in.  Besides the recent Rocky and Rambo movies, I can't think of anything he's been in of late.  Willis has had the RED movies, the newer Die Hard movies, GI Joe, Sin City (isn't there another one coming out soon?), Cop Out, voice over in Over the Hedge...

He didn't say that his career is a failure, just that his current behavior (being a complete ass) and attitude towards working on the set (dialing it in) is going to be the his eventual downfall.

Possibly - but if Stallone's career kept going at the current rate and Willis' career blew away in the wind tomorrow... between the two of them, I'd say Willis still had the more successful career.  The best Stallone can do is poor re-hashes of his old movies and something that, at best, is a parody that he, himself, is in charge of.  And let's be honest, if Stallone was the only big name in the Expendables, no one would have bothered to see it - the only reason they did was because of the huge list of names attached.

Maybe I'm just bitter because I rented it and couldn't watch more than about 1/2 an hour of it before I turned it off.

Stallone was nominated for an Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor for the same film (Rocky) and is only the third person in history to be nominated for both these awards in one film. The others? Charlie Chaplin and Orson Welles.

Am I trying to suggest that Stallone and Welles are comparable? Yes. Yes, I am.

Point, Dasmos.

I can't really say much about that, since, as I said, I'm not much of a fan of either one - and I'm really not a fan of award shows and such... so I can't give much of a comeback for that.

I assume you're talking about the original 70's Rocky?

Bruce Willis has Fifth Element.

Actors such as Willis and Stallone, and many others, are essentially relics from a time when Hollywood cashed in tremendously on the tough guy action movie genre. Granted that a whole lot of their films in the 1980s were good, they are basically living on past success. This is compounded even worse by the fact that Hollywood has not produced one single original idea in over two decades.

Dasmos actually won this debate, and their's nothing anyone can say in retaliation.
