Title: Best (not a boss or mini-boss) fight in WW?
Post by: Oldskool on June 09, 2003, 10:31:17 AM
I loved the battle in Hyrule Castle after you get the Master sword! In just one part of that fight I took on 3 darknuts and 4 Moblins! The Moblins did about half the work for me (Their giant spears have a tendency to it their comrades.), and it was a good test of skill in combat!

I'd say that the place with 50 chambers (where you get the Triforce chart in Outset island) is the best. Fighting against four Darknuts after 49 levels is really, really interesting. And there was also that fight against that horde of different jelly enemies, that was nice.

I'd say Hyrule castle, but I was rushed in that part because my friends and I were about to go do stuff. Aside from that, the place on Outset, I suppose. I also liked that one cave that was chock full of bats.

I liked the catacombes or fifty chambers or whatever. That was the best. It's cool to charge up your cyclone sword spin thing attack and then know like half of them with one blow. I nearly died in that place.

I'd say in the catacombs against that Phantom guy(because of the music) or returning to Hyrule Castle to see Zelda, but then the knights drop from high up.

I know you said no bosses but I'm forced to say that the final fight with gannon was the most fun. I like games like that where you have hand to hand sword combat. However, the outset triforce chart was also fun.

My favorite boss fight would probably have to be. . . oh. . . I dunno. They're all very cool. I liked the bird and the sand monster, though. And the plant has a cool name. Kalle demos.

Ohh come on... I can not believe you guys, Hyrule castle, Catacombs, Triforce chamber, gimm- e break, nobody thought of the secret cave on Shark Isle. I know some of you might of never even been there but there are so many Moblins, Bokoblins, Wizzrobes, and especially Darkn- uts, that I beat the game 6 times, and masterd it once ( gotten all hearts, mastered the gallery, mapped the whole great sea, beaten Ganon and all bosses, gotten all treasure char- ts and treasures, and gotten the secret suit) and It took me about 20 minutes to beat it!

Hey, man. Shark Island! I love just going there to tear things up. There are exactly six of each of the main creatures, and I love the mess of weapons that cover the room after they're gone. I stop by every time I'm in that part of the ocean, which is why I have 99 knight belts.

I really like to fight the two moths (not sure if that is their name) that are on outset island because it's fun to finish off with a spin attack all those spiked balls released from them.
Hey 3_Shadow_3 what secret suit are you talking about? I passed the game already and started a new one to complete my statue collection and now link uses a blue shirt and orange pants. Is this the suit your talking about?

Or the other outfit.
Yeah, I forgot about Shark Island. I got there rather late, but it was an awesome fight.

My personal fav is the Helmaroc King battle. I have no idea why, but it felt pretty good watching him smack the edge of the fortress.

i hate that sand monster thing so much, it annoys me so much i was at controller throwing rage point fighting that, i almost died! (did anyone else feel really bad keeping faries in the jars in this game? they looked sad ;_
phantom ganon in the catacombs is the best specially working out wtf todo, that was genious, except i wanted to kick his ass with his giant sword that was nice

Yeah, his second form was cool. His purple beam attack thing was cool looking, though it was pretty easy to dodge.
It's weird. . . the first time through, there was no trouble, but the second and third time around, I had a tough time beating the first boss. Died once, even. Later, I realized I didn't have to wait for him to face me again before grappling the tail. I always waited for him to get his claw stuck.

Personally, I think fighting Stalfos is cool. A good sword fight? I'm game.
Oh, and if you cross out the parentheses in the topic title, I LOVED fighting Ganon. Another great sword fight.
We need a Zelda fighter. You know. Not Soul Calibur II. We need pure Zelda. And a cel-shaded fighter at that! What's Shiggy gonna think about that? OOOH! And rate it M. Or better yet, AO. Then, we can watch puny little cel-shaded cartoony Link slash Zelda's head off. It slowly rolls to the other side of the room, and then does that explosion thing that the enemies in WW do. And Link starts cheering. And he feels good. Oh yes, soooo goood....SOOOOO GOOOOD....And the Triforce blows up with it! And we see a beheaded Zelda turn into a beheaded Tetra! And then, you unlock a secret character: Beheaded Zelda! And you know, like in SSBM, Zelda can turn into Sheik? I say, she has the power to turn into Beheaded Tetra! MWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! And then, you and Ganon team up, and go up against Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule! And you paint grafiti on his castle! And he turns all red! And you slash him, and every time you do, a part of his body flies off! First his leg! Then his other leg! Then his arm! Then his other arm! And you go for his head, what you think is the last hit, but after you slash off his head, and there's blood everywhere, and his body does that exploding thing, out comes the last fight! GHOST DAPHNES HYRULE! And he flies up, and he dodges every shot you take! You have to time exactly right! And if you mess up the slightest bit, your sword slips out of your hands, lands in your chest, and the ghost of Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule has his revenge...all cuz you put grafiti in his castle. But I said you team up with Ganon, right? So he's like, your second chance. If you screw up and kill Link, you go to a casino in the cosmos as Ghost Link. And you play the slots - you have bad luck, Ganon dies, and Game Over. You have good luck, Ganon completely destroys the dreaded Ghost of Hyrule. MWAHAHAHaHAHAAHAHAHAHA!
It's fun to see what I can do with my spare time.

I love playing ping - pong with Phatom ganon, its fun to do in wind waker, but even more fun to do in ocarina of time, where you deflect his magic attack with your sword to send it back to him and he deflects it and you deflect it back, etc. That gives me a great idea! Zelda ping - pong for GC. LOL. JK

To me, all the bosses were way too easy. Wait, I mean the whole game was way too easy. I enjoy games that are hard. Games that take me forever to beat. I like challenges, what can I say? I can't really have a favorite place because none of them were really hard...doesn't anybody agree with me in saying that the game was way too friggin easy?!

I found the sand creature boss (forgot his name) was not that tough. Yet everyone said it was one of the toughest bosses. I found the toughest bosses for me is a tie between Real Ganon's first form, and the very first boss (I always have trouble distracting him long enough... yet <SPOILER>I distracted him easily when I played him late in Ganon's Tower.)<SPOILER>
I suppose everybody has their strengths and weaknesses when playing this game.

Can you name a hard boss in any of the Zelda games? I can name perhaps Majora(without Oni Link, you cheaters ), but other than that, nothing...
To me, the Zelda games are about exploration, not hard boss fights...

Well, in OoT, the last fight with Ganon was really hard for me. And in MM, well I haven't played that game in so long I cna't remember it's name. It was really hard for me. It's just that WW was super easy for me, compared to the other Zelda games I've played.

Shark island WAS CRAZY!! all for what...200 rupee!?! man, i thought it was the end of the game or something...i didnt know the sign on the island was true haha...but yeah...there were a lot of dudes there..that where i got the rest of the knight crests that i needed..it was truely a slug fest there, i nearly died..i was surprised the frame rate didnt hit 0 i had so many monsters onscreen. thats the most intense fight in the game bar none. OH yeah, the first time that giant Squid popped out of the water,..i thought that was pretty cool.as for the scariest fight...its small...but those things in the Earth dungeon...the undead things that scream at you..hahah those things freaked me out!

Shark Island took me so long to beat. I couldn't survive. That was until I stocked up on both fairies and potion that brings your magic power back up. I kept using up all my magic. MM wasn't really hard for me. It didn't take me that long to beat it. The only thing I didn't like about it was how you finish something but then it looks like you didn't even do anything because it kept going back through time. I didn't really enjoy MM that much.

I'd say the toughest boss for me was Ganondorf himself, when he goes for you with his two swords. He is the only really damaging enemy in the game and his attacks are pretty hard to evade (some even unblocckable). BTW, what is this "helmaroic king"?

In layman's terms, the giant bird with the mask...

That reminds me, the bird in WW was so stupid. Like when you fought him, he would try to attack you with his beak and get it stuck in the ground. And then when he came swooping down at you, and you dodge it, sometimes he would hit the wall behind you. Some almighty bird he is. (if hes a he, you never know.)

Hmm...best fight that wasn't a boss or mini boss...The best one I can think of right now is the one when you go inside one of those sub boats and inside it is filled of mice(rats?) running around with bombs throwing them at you and there are bomb plants on the floor. That was a fun fight.

I liked any fight where there were multiple darknuts. The one on shark island rocked but the 50 level thing was a bit tedious. The best boss in my opinion was Ganon in the water chamber (with zelda) and i loved the violent ending. Crunch.

I played that fight again today and it rocked. I found that you CAN attack him without having to wait for him first. Just Target him, press forwards, keep hacking and then press A when it says so.

I think he was one of the funnest bosses to fight against. And one of the easiest.

Me, too. I liked that boss. Sort of reminded me of the Meta Ridley fight, except bunches easier. It was also very satisfying to kill the fool, since he'd been such a nuisance before, tossing you transAtlantic and whatnot.

I was really chuffed when he finally died. I think that the Forsaken Fortress bits are the only parts of the game which i found mildly challenging. First the stealth, second the speed.

The Hardest Fight In Wind Waker is erm... well... actually none of them are hard... just fun. The most fun one was in Hyrule Castle, oh man I felt like Bruce Lee taking them all on and the AI was great. The way they'd hit each other and you could do the parry attacks and back flips, damn that was sweet.
OFF TOPIC: Hardest boss on the GameCube was Metro Riley (SP?) in Metroid Prime damn I can't remember how many times I came closs to beating it and how many times I died lol.

I think that the hardest fights were ones involving both Moblins and Darknuts. You are trying to concentrate on fighting the 3 darknuts and the b****** of a Moblin keeps whacking you so the Darknuts get you as well! and If you try to get the Moblin then the Darknuts get you!

The first time I fought him, I thought it was way to short. But after fighting him 2 or 3 more times you realize that it actually isn't very short. (At least that's what I realized)
