Title: AC New Leaf: Approval rating stuck!

I restarted my game and am in the process of raising my approval rating, which is currently stuck at 52 percent. I've watered flowers, helped citizens, changed the town flag & tune, sold items at Re-Tail, etc. Nothing happens. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!

I don't think changing the town flag and tune do anything. It only took me a day to get to 100%, how long have you been playing the restarted version?

Flag and tune do affect approval rating. Make sure you talk to everyone multiple times. It took me a few days to get 100%

The way my approval rating increased also seemed to be ad hoc. It took a few days for mine to increase, but my actions seemed to have little bearing on it. Maybe give it a few days?
