I will gladly wait 24 hours for the ability to save $30.

Now, if EB would kindly let me know what EB I'll be schlepping up to next weekend...

>Pre-order
>The digital copy only
>At a physical store
??? What a weird marketing campaign...

If they want to boost sales so badly, then they should just release the completed game now and give us a discount when the physical games is released as an apology for making us wait so long to get an actual wiiU game to play.

Pre-order a downloadable copy? Are you f-ing kidding me?

Is that a joke or an oxymoron?

Back during the GameCube this may be a greatish thing but, I rather just have the game release at the same time as everyone else.

Hey Nintendo! The only reason anyone cared about the Best Buy thing was because it was an E3 thing. No one's going to care enough about Pikmin 3 for a 48 hour in-store demo and a one day early digital-only release for physical pre-orders.  They should be grateful if Pikmin 3 sells copies at all.  Join the modern era, Nintendo, and just put the demo up on the eShop.

Where can you save $30?  I hope it's US.  I've not been a smart shopper when it comes to new games, but I'd love to pick up Pikmin at a discount.

The $30 reference is to the buy Fire Emblem/SMT promo.

I was able to find the listing on GameStop's website:

It looks like there are different stores on Saturday and Sunday, so be sure to try both.

Why would anyone pre-order a digital copy?  Does Gamestop even remember what the initial selling point of pre-ordering was?  I pre-order to ensure I get one of the finite copies available on the release date.  There is no scarcity with digitial releases.  If I want it on day one I just go online and get it.  My house is the Gamestop and it never runs out of stock.

This whole thing really makes Nintendo (and Gamestop for that matter) look like out-of-touch fuddy-duddies.  It is obvious that this is the company that didn't go online when everyone else did.  The whole execution of this just reaks of a company that does not understand the appeal of online gaming and was dragged into it kicking and screaming.
