Nintendo has launched a website counting down the time until their Nintendo Direct on June 11 at 7 a.m. PT, and it confirms that the presentation will be one hour long.

I'm continually convinced that the only surprise will be whatever Retro Studios is working on. I'm hoping to be wrong, however if they reveal that Monolith Soft's game "X" is coming this year I won't care if there's nothing else at all. I just wish I could buy a copy of Xenoblade, I had to sign up for Gamefly just to play the game.

All of these silhouettes seem like known stuff... also, why are Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101 getting attention at E3? It feels like they need these games to fill up for stuff they cannot or will not show.

The new 3D Mario would be the only new reveal here.  Surely that wouldn't be the case.  Though with Nintendo wanting to prioritize using Directs I suppose that could be the releases for 2013 and they'll use a Direct to show us the stuff from the first half of 2014.  But then you figure we get at least one more Wii U title in 2013, and they're only including one silhouette for a 3DS game.

I don't care if this is it for 2013 for the Wii U, Nintendo should show as much as they can just to give the impression that the Wii U has a healthy future.  Like I don't give a **** if some game they show isn't due for two years, it's important for the Wii U's image that there be something concrete to look forward to.  Although I have nothing to go by other than my typical cynicism regarding Nintendo, I just assume they don't get that.  They'll show what's due in the next few months and figure everything else is too far off to be a concern and then wonder why Wii U sales don't pick up.  Nintendo can't sell what the Wii U currently IS, because it ain't much.  They have to sell what the Wii U will become, and that means they need to generate hype on future projects.

Of course Nintendo isn't going to have a silhouette on this site of something we wouldn't have any way to recognize so the absense of other silhouettes doesn't mean an absense of other reveals.

At this point, there is nothing that would truly surprise me. True, maybe Retro Studios's new game might be a bit of a surprise, but it isn't the kind of surprise that would make me go run down the streets half naked screaming for joy. Then again, it wouldn't be much of a surprise if we could predict beforehand what is coming, would it?
