Title: White Wii U Deluxe Set Coming to Japan this Summer

Nintendo is adding a little bit of variety to the Wii U in Japan.

A White Wii U Premium Set, or Deluxe Set as it is known in the West, will be available in Japan starting July 13. The new variation will retail for the standard price of 31,500 yen (about $312.72). Currently, the White Wii U is only available with the Basic Set, which comes equipped with 8 GB of storage while the Deluxe offers 32 GB.

It is currently unknown if the White Deluxe Set will be released in the West.

WHHHHYYYYY??   Why have the same color for the two different models?  I could see a different color deluxe, but won't uninformed customers get confused?  They should have made the deluxe only but still.........

Because its just changing the guts of the white which is probably a cheaper shell to make anyway.  (Not a lot but a little.)  Brand confusion between the Deluxe and the Basic is not really a problem.  If someone wants a Deluxe they'll make sure its the right one on the box.  If someone picks up a deluxe instead of a Basic well who Cares?

I think Japn has less of a problem with idiots running around.

This is only good news for people that want white with the extras. I love my black, and really didn't want white due to how dirty my first wii got. Now though, I want white... Hopefully I can get banana yellow when the next DK comes out.

i thought of that as well... but you did say we would be able to buy a wii at launch so...
