Title: Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console Wishlist
Post by: Kytim89 on December 23, 2012, 03:07:49 PM
With the rather lack luster support that Nintendo has had with the 3DS Virtual Console, I thought it might be a good idea to make list of titles that should appear on the Virtual Console service:
Game Boy:
Contra: Super C
Castlevania: The Adventure
Final Fantasy Legends I,II, and III
Final Fantasy Adventure
All TMNT games.
Tetris
Game Boy Color:
LoZ: Oracle of Ages
LoZ: Oracle of Seasons
Metal Gear: Ghost Babel
The entire Pokemon series.
Shantae
Game Boy Advance:
Gunstar Super Heroes
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Sword of Mana
Mario Power Tennis
All of the Ambassador GBA games.
Nintendo should also console Virtual Console titles to be played on the 3DS via some kind of online account system.

I think you mean Operation C. Super C was a Arcade/NES game.
I think any wishlist game list should be one that has games that have a chance to come out. Like the TMNT ones have little chance due to licensing issues.

Castlevania: The Adventure is already on the 3DS Virtual Console, and has been for almost three months.

Tetris is also already on the VC.

And Pokemon's not coming unless it's Pinball.

Pokémon will come, just not until after the first generation of 3DS Pokémon games. They'll rake in the cash with the new game, then rake in the cash from nostalgia. They'll be able to get people to buy at least two 3DS-native Pokémon games, as well as half a dozen nearly identical old GB/C/A games. The Pokémon games will be the Super Mario Bros. 3 of the 3DS Virtual Console, topping the charts, generating massive profits into infinity.

I'd liked it if they ported WarioWare:Twisted.
Not sure if i'd double dip, i just want more people to experience this glorious game.

I'd love to see these Virtual Console games arrive... but honestly, I feel like the eShop has been filled with original gifts already this year. Quality games like Crimson Shroud (+ other Guild01 games), Fluidity, escapeVektor and Crashmo are sure to make my holidays very happy. That doesn't say much for Virtual Console... but a good game is good regardless of platform.

There's no reason it can't be both.

I bought NES Punch Out for my 3DS. Why can't i have it on Wii VC with saves and all?
It would be easier to dodge that altogether and just keep handheld VC strictly for old handhelds games.
Too late for that, i guess.

No one forced you to buy the NES game for the 3DS. I'd rather they release as many games as possible on there, and let people decide which ones to buy. If you only want handheld games, you can only buy handheld games, and if I want a mix I can have that too. In a perfect world we'd have universal accounts and I could transfer my whole Wii VC library to 3DS, but until and unless that happens, I'd rather they release everything they can on 3DS.

Yes but nintendo has basically ignored gb/gbc since the nes games came especially in America because reggie is a bastard Game gear has gotten a rats nose worth of games and that other system they said would be coming hasn't been spoken of since (Some turbografix thing i dont remember)
Half of the gbc games we have are dx versions of gameboy games

For as much as I agree with the overall sentiment that the 3DS VC can be 'both', I have to side with azeke and pokepal148 on this one.
As someone who owns an embarrasing amount of Wii VC games I find it quite disheartening when NES games are released on 3DS VC. First off, my stance on what a license to digital content should constitute puts me at odds with rebuying games I already own digitally on other Nintendo platforms. Secondly, as pokepal148 alludes, Nintendo have a zero-sum mentality when it comes to downloadable games. In other words, when a NES game is released on 3DS VC it will often mean that another game is not. Given that I already own a digital license for all those NES games released so far on the 3DS, if they're not going to give me access to them on the 3DS then I'd much prefer they just release more handheld VC titles as those are games I don't already own digitally.
I agree that theoretically 'There's no reason it can't be both', but the history of the VC service is proof that Nintendo don't curate releases in a rational manner.

There is no reason it can't be both, but there's a reason it's not both, and it's that Nintendo apparently doesn't want it to be.
