Title: Wii U eShop Launch Details Emerge
Post by: tylerohlew on November 16, 2012, 09:57:23 AM

If you thought the launch lineup was stacked, wait until you see what you can download.

On day one of the Wii U's launch, Little Inferno, Trine 2: Director's Cut, Chasing Aurora, Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Drive Edition, and Nano Assault NEO will all be available for purchase from the eShop.

Among those titles, the eShop will also be offering for download a selection of Wii U retail titles, although Nintendo did not specify which games would be available.

Downloadable content for games will only be available after a system update that will arrive sometime in December.

In light of the recent release of the YouTube Channel for the Wii, the Wii U will also be receiving a dedicated application for the video service. Nintendo says online enabled gamers will receive a notification on their system when it becomes available.

The Wii U is launching November 18.

Any news on price for eshop games? I'd like to get Trine 2 and Mighty Switch Force so I'm getting a prepaid card to avoid entering my credit card info.

I was hoping Cloudberry Kingdom would be there at launch. Really, though, all five of those are possible buys for me, though I have to get a bit more information on a couple of them,

I just watched this Might Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition trailer (http://youtu.be/2qRUKN4horU) that WayForward released yesterday. And, yes, that's definitely happening on Sunday.

In all honesty, I had exactly the same thoughts. If that list is the same as the European launch, of course. I'm a little concerned about where the standard price for eShop downloads will fall in the UK, but like everything, I'll no doubt get used to the fact that things are more expensive here.

:confused; :@  Really ??!!

I only want to go to the store once, and not knowing what is available on e-shop really limits what i buy on e-shop vs retail.

Well, we know New Super Mario Bros. U and Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Wii U Edition are confirmed for the eShop. Based on the Ubisoft CEO saying he wanted their retail games on the eShop ASAP, I guess it won't be at launch (as he said that this month).
