Title: I need help choosing an HDTV, and narrowed it down to two. Can someone help?
Post by: Oblivion on October 07, 2012, 11:11:34 PM
I'm starting to save the money now, but I want to decide what I want early so I have something specific to look forward to. My main wish list for a TV was:
32 Inch Screen Size 60Hz (120 Hz is fucking ugly) 1080p At least 3 HDMI ports and one component port (I plan on filling up the HDMI slots with my PS3, future Wii U, and Laptop for movies/games, and I want the component for non HD systems) LED/LCD And MAYBE support for a good 5.1/7.1 sound system. This is more of a future thing, since I don't need it now
And with these limitations, I've found two that I like:
Now, the second one has a 3D option, which I don't think I'll be using too often, but I figured it was nice to have. Plus, it's a bit cheaper.
The second one, however, is an LED screen so it's a bit thinner and sexier.
Which one of the two do you guys recommend?

I would go with Samsung too.

Samsung. Right now, probably the best consumer brand of TVs out there.

Alright, it seems like I know which one to get now. Is there any particular reason why, or just because the brand is better? Because it seems the other one has quite a bit more positive reviews.

I say that if you are going to spend $500 on a 32" TV, then you might as well spend the extra $50 for the 42" 3D Vizio.
But if 32" is all you want (or can fit), and you are willing to spend $500 on it, then Samsung is the obvious choice to make.

The problem with that 42 inch is that it's 120hz. I can't stand what it does to movies and **** so I avoid that feature like the plague.

you don't need to enable it, and it makes 3D doable @ 60hz per eye.
It also makes sports and live events look great.

Ah, okay. I don't care about sports, but if I can disable the 120hz except for 3D, then that makes me a happy camper. Thanks BnM.
