Title: Summoner or Lost Kingdoms?
Post by: ECubed4 on May 25, 2003, 07:48:44 PM: Hey, I was at Circuit City and saw the original Lost Kingdoms game for $19.99. I thought about getting it, but instead went for Ikaruga (which is great, I must add). Anyways, should I pick up Lost Kingdoms, or pay an extra ten dollars and just get Summoner: A Goddess Reborn?

P.S. Viewtiful Joe is outstanding!

Summoner is average at best, and unless you enjoy card games, you won't enjoy Lost Kingdoms too much

I bought LK and regetted getting it. It has neat combat system but the lackluster story and characters personality made it a bore. Also the game is rather short--so I would recommend renting it for $6.00 then buying it.

I've only played around 4-5 hours of summoner 2 (PS2) but there wasn't anything to exciting about it. It's average I would say and maybe worth a rental.

It was probably concepted for being played against a friend, the story seems more like an excuse for singleplayer, which is simply the mode where you collect the cards for multiplayer. I have never played it against a friend, though...

If you're looking for a good RPG, get Skies. If you haven't already, that is. And PSO is good for hack'n'slay fans and has a loooong play time. BTW, does anyone know whether Mystic Heroes is a good game for H'n'S?

And don't get fooled by LK claiming to be an RPG. It is action-strategy. You don't really level up, EXP is more like a currency used to get better cards.
