Title: Rich at IGN lied about the Nintendo Direct for America?
Post by: tendoboy1984 on September 28, 2012, 11:47:19 PM
He said it would be tonight, after the Japanese one. I've been waiting all day, and nothing happened. No announcement, no hints, nada.

I learnt a long time ago to not listen to a thing that man says. He seems like a nice and affable sort of guy and I bear him no ill will, but why he's the honcho of IGN's Nintendo team I'll never know.

Did I not respond to you and say that Nintendo of America told us (and also IGN) that there was one incoming?

Did I also not say that, according to NoA, it was coming "soon" and/or "shortly"? This no fault of any journalist; this is Nintendo of America telling us something and then not delivering.

tendo tends to keep asking something even after being told the answer multiple times. I have already learned this about him.

*question asked again after it's already been answered by someone*

Do you ever actually read anything? or do you just like to ask questions repeated even though I believe someone already answered it for you? maybe you are just waiting to hear it from a specific person...

Listening to other people is overrated.

You know it is the responses and bullying like this is making me want to leave this forum even more and more. So what? He made a simple topic and made a small mistake and you guys like oh so "mature" gamers that you are rail on him to make you think higher of yourselves. So what! I am sure you made posting mistakes here or made a topic that you regreted here later. You don't have to act so high and mighty like you are perfect all the time.

If it were one thing, I don't think people would be having this much fun at his expense.  But he keeps doing stuff like this, so yeah a little ribbing isn't going too far.  I've certainly had my share of it.  I do think perhaps the joke has gone on too long, though.  The ribbing can resume the next time he does something...unwise.

Here is the thing though. The so called ribbing is just another way to make it so that he thinking like most everyone else is. It is basically saying "we are going to keep doing this to you till you think like everyone else is."

It's all in good fun. We've found a pattern and simply pointing it out through humor.

"we are going to keep doing this to you till you think."
FTFY
Regardless of right or wrong, I think this more accurately captures the motivation.
