Title: Episode 50: Cake, Cake, Cake, Cake, etc.
Post by: JusDBerube on September 08, 2012, 03:47:56 PM

Come join Connectivity in celebrating the episode 50 milestone. Half-way to syndication!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/connectivity/31596

Oh, you're here! We're so glad you could make it to Connectivity's 50th episode bash. Drinks are over there by the window, and we're going to do cake after presents. Which, it looks like he is ready to open them now, shh, shh.

There are three little ones from Zach, Scott, Neal, Patrick, Mike, and Lauren. Oh my gosh, it's three Star Fox 64 radio dramas! He is going to love those. Aww, how precious, he is more interested in playing with the wrapping paper. Kids, right?

Oh this next one is a big one. Let me check the card... yeah, that's what I thought, this one is from Zach, Daan, Tyler, and Justin. Look at that, a game of NWR Jeopardy. He loves to play along with these and see if he can beat everyone's scores.

The last one is from Neal, Scott, Patrick, and Andy. A game of Who Wants to be a Nintendoaire! I can't believe they were able to find one, these have been flying off the shelves.

Click here to send us birthday cards and listener mail. Thanks to everyone who has listened to Connectivity (and Newscast before it). The response over the year(s) has been surreal. We can't say enough how much we love doing this show.

Now, onward to episode 100!

Is the title a Rihanna reference?

Connectivity should be very proud, and I’ve listened to all 50 so far. Unfortunately, I didn’t find any of the drinks; thankfully I always bring plenty of my own for safe measure. That Star Fox reenactment was approximately 1,000,001 times better than anything I’ve heard from Lady Gaga. Sadly, I bought Star Fox 64 3D months ago, and it’s still in its cellophane. I’ve never played the game, so maybe it’s a positive to look forward to; and this segment makes me want to break it open.

Every weekend I enjoy listening to your independent voices giving analysis about Nintendo, both positive and negative. I always look forward to hearing from Zach, Andy, Mike, and who am I kidding, I like you all. Honestly, you all do work that makes my week better, Thank You.

Minor correction: The PokeGear (phone/map/radio) was actually introduced in GS, the touchscreen app item introduced in Diamond/Pearl is the Poketch. (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Poketch)

That, and it really is called Wedge Island. The online map I was looking at was clearly mislabeled.

I would also like to point out that the last question in the before & after category was wrong. The name of the game is Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, so it can't be mixed with Rhythm Heaven Fever. I don't think that would have affected the final results.

It's funny listening to Nintendoaire and hearing questions that I think are easy, but seeing you guys struggle (like the Mario Party one, ESPECIALLY when it was narrowed down to 2004 and 2006).

Did you know who developed Harvey Birdman?

Actually, I did. Mainly because sometime last year I was doing some research on High Voltage Software and was surprised they made it.

I can do some devious questions, myself, but that's because I research game developers and game contents all over the place whenever I do articles.

I got a lot of them right, but I'd be lying if I said Neal's questions were easy.  There are plenty of ways to stump me, which I won't disclose just in case :P

Bring me onto the show and I think I could do better than the 8,000 record.

Great episode, guys. You have done a very fine job of carving out your niche. I really hope to compete on Nintendoaire sometime -- maybe at PAX East? Talk about pressure, with all those people watching you live.

*Looks at the box*

****, it does say "Final Fantasy" after "Theatrhythm."

Not my strongest Jeopardy, eh folks?

You could be the warm-up. :P Also, just thinking of Nintendoaire at PAX East makes me stupidly excited/nervous.

I do want to let my challenging questions run free with Nintendoaire and get some of the Jeopardy champions/staffers who have been like "bitch please. Those questions were easy."
