Last year, independent developer DreamRift released the inventive 2D platformer Monster Tale on DS. The studio's new 3DS game, Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, promises to send Mickey Mouse on an exciting platforming quest filled with classic Disney characters and locations.  At E3, NWR had the chance to speak with Peter Ong, the creative director and co-founder of DreamRift, about the upcoming game.

I really don't recommend trying to conduct an interview and play a game at the same time. It doesn't really work for video either, although Jared did a nice job editing this one together with the direct feed. The only reason I did it this way is that I had about 15 minutes before catching a shuttle to the airport -- I really wanted to play the game, and talk to Peter, so we did both at once. Big ups to Neal for filling in the gaps, which made it a lot less awkward than it could have been. And Peter is a true pro interviewee so that makes it easy as well.

Totally wigging me out with the left-handed stylus action, Jonny.

Good interview in a hard situation, makes me look forward to this one even more. The hub "fortress" mehanic seems pretty interesting, I wonder just how many sidequests there are going to be.

Left-handed? That's probably me.
