The first game being developed exclusively for Ouya is an episodic prequel of Human Element, the first project from Robotoki. Robert Bowling, the studio's president, says he personally donated $10,000 to the Kickstarter project. The prequel games will center on the zombie outbreak as it begins in the game's universe. The full title, which is expected to launch in 2015, takes place 35 years after the outbreak.
You can read our full interview with Bowling about his departure from Activision and his new studio, Robotoki, right here (http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/07/09/taking-on-the-human-element.aspx).
This is for all the doubters who think the Ouya is either a scam or won't manage to get off the ground. Apparently, it already has an exclusive game announced for it. Robert Bowling was once a member of Infinity Ward, and apparently he has such faith in this console that he donated $10,000 to the kickstarter and is throwing his new company's full support behind it. Would he do that if he didn't have faith in the Ouya's potential?
As Kurt Angle would say: Ouya is real, it's DAMN REAL!

There are plenty of scams in history that fooled big name people, so this doesn't mean Ouya will come out. Even if it does, at best it will be a niche product.
Plus, a prequel to a game that isn't even out yet? Is this supposed to be impressive?

$99 is a mass market price. If this were like $500 or more I would agree with you, but the price is very much within everyone's reach. Even if for some reason they are unable to meet the $99 price point and are force to jack it up a bit to say $129 or something, that's still very affordable and appealing. At any price under $200 this thing would fly off shelves like hot cakes.

Not niche because of price, niche because of demand and appeal. I don't see this getting too much commercial support from developers, and I don't see the average person buying a system that requires them to hack it to get most of the good games. It's like the worst parts of consoles combined with the worst parts of gaming PCs.

This should be in the other Ouya thread probably, but Jesus Christ, can we stop bashing something that we really don't know that much about? How can you judge the demand for something that the vast majority of even internet users don't even know will exist a year from now? I am by no means saying this will be anything like the Wii, but what was the demand for the Wii a year before it was announced?

Judging by the millions of dollars the kickstarter has brought in for this project in such a very short time, I think its clear that the demand is there. And this is just from the (relatively) few people who are even aware of its existence. Imagine how popular this could be if the mainstream media grabs a hold of it. There's a chance this could be the next Wii for all we know.

i remember buying Dreamcast for $99. Very good choice. Id imagine Piracy would be rampant on this console if it was actually piracy. If games were available at a low price then there would be no need for piracy...though this would be an ideal pirates spare console.
