Your new are'nt you? Gamecube has been online, the modems have been available for months but there are only two games that you can play online, they would be Phantasy star online 1 and 2. I'm not sure if PSO 2 is out yet. They are made by Sega and their is a monthly fee to play but I dont know what it is.

PSO is PSO 1&2 in one game, the upcoming title is PSO3.

Nintendo's online game selection is less than pathetic. One game. And I don't remember any online accounements at E3. LAN doesn't count (although I will get a BB adapter just for Mario Kart.)

Come on Nintendo, how hard is it? EA, why aren't our sports games online?

EA signed an exclusive deal for this year with sony, which makes only the ps2 versions of their sports titles playable online.

Meh, not like EA's losing much business from the Cube- they've already said they're not supporting XBox Live and we all know how well offline sports games sell on the Cube.

Doh! Why did Sega pull sports games? Why oh why? I loved NBA2K1 on the DC. Oh, the pain. I guess I'll have to but a PS2 Network adapter instead. EA Punks!

There is no GameCube online service, so a headset is unlikely.

There will be what?  A headset or a Gamecube online service?

It wouldn't be very cryptic if I came right out and explained it now, would it.

Padawans these days ... sheesh!

Hmmmm... looks like the ever elusive Rick know's something that we don't "yet"

Hmmmmm, I have a hunch that Nintendo has been planning on an online service for their upcoming titles. or it could be that deal with gamespy. hmmmm Rick care to elaborate on this?

Rick, is it about N-LAN, or does that even exist?

I believe Rick is talking about online play, Why would it be a cryptic message regarding headsets? I think the formal and not the latter is what Rick is getting at. And the story on PGC seems to confirm that Nintendo has been cooking something up. I'm very intrigued, thing's could get even better. Hopefully other 3rd parties will start to put their games online for Cube other than just ps2 or xbox. I see GC beneifiting more than Xbox. Due to Xbox discrimanating those who don't have access to Broadband.

There's a new article regarding online gameplay on PGC. Iwata-san says that they want to create an online gaming service that doesn't require monthly and annual fees.
How kick ass is that!

Anyone else read the conversation gcadvanced.com had with gamespy where gamespy basically said they were working on a way so that all future games with LAN will be able to be played online using the LAN option and a broadband adapter?

I never put 2 and 2 together. (Nintendo's current LAN "explosion", and last July's GameSpy press release)

However, the GCAdvanced.com interview also passed under my radar, as well as that of a few others.

Still, it all seems so simple, and so obvious. The question now is simply: When?

Yeah, it does seem like the LAN explosion was odd, no?  No it looks like Nintendo is putting together a decent online strategy.  I wonder if they have some online games to announce that they are saving for the unveiling of the strategy?  One can only hope.

Well, it´s more fun this way, we can try to figure out what´s going on by what little info we have.  Let´s see, built in broadband network gaming with the cube to be used through the LAN option in games...I´m assuming that this means MKD could very well be networkable.  And the possablity of a MMORPG Pokemon game?  Let the speculation flow!
