Title: Amazon now lists Wii U game prices
Post by: Kidlat404 on May 16, 2012, 03:58:50 PM
I made a video about it:

You can verify it yourself by looking up "Wii U" in amazon. It's probably a placeholder though but a person is allowed to dream right?

i personally believe that all this lists are bogus, besides nintendo has made it clear that the Wii U is going top have a healthy launch lineup.

Those games are selling for $49.99. There is still a good chance that Wii U games could be priced at $59.99, but if Nintendo made their games ten dollars cheaper than the competition then it would increase demand for their games over those of Sony and Microsoft. The only problem is whether third parties would go along with this or not.

If we preorder these games at $49.99 and Nintendo later bumps up the price to $59.99 do we still get them at the lower price?

I think Amazon lets you lock in whatever price they first post, so yeah.

Sometimes, not always. Especially when it's just Amazon guessing.

None of these pre-order prices can stick unless Amazon first declares that these are set prices that can't be changed or these prices are announced as official. As Nintendo has stated that they are refusing to talk Wii U prices at E3, I wouldn't count on either of those conditions being met until probably August at the earliest.

To be safe they should have set the prices at $59.99, then they could always drop it later on if Nintendo announces they are keeping the MSRP at $49.99.

Anytime I have done an early listing preorder with amazon, they kept the prices. (USA Amazon that is)
That's how I got Uncharted for the vita for 40 dollars at launch. I always check though before they ship to make sure they are still listed for that price on my orders page. That's just my experience with them though.
Had Darksiders 2 been one of the titles they listed, I might have preordered that. Not really interested in what's listed there right now though. Still was fun to browse through though.

The only way you wouldn't get it for that price is if Amazon decided it wasn't a correct listing and cancelled the product outright, then relisted it under a new product page and price. They did that to me with a comic once. They also did it the other way for me with Dead Space 2 where they listed it over a year in advance for $49.25 and I got it for that price when it shipped.
