Title: Monolith working on The Hobbit video game tie-in (rumor)
Post by: Oblivion on April 04, 2012, 10:37:11 AM
This was probably mentioned already, but there is a rumor circulating around that The Hobbit video game tie-in will be developed by Monolith. Yay?

Not Nintendo's Monolith Soft...

Some crappy, underwhelming third-party studio called just Monolith.

Expect it to be horrible.

This makes much more sense.  I had heard the rumor, and some things didn't quite make sense... but didn't stop to think it would be a different studio with a similar name.  Good clarification.

To be fair, Monolith Productions is 5 years older than Monolith Soft (Productions was founded in 1994, Soft in 1999). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monolith_Productions

They most recently developed Gotham City Imposters, which is getting good reviews.

They've never made a game on a Nintendo platform, so who knows if they would start now.
