Title: eShop review copies

So, I noticed some of my so-called "Friends" have been playing VVVVVV on the 3DS and not letting me in on the fun! Knowing it wasn't out yet, I wondered what was going on.
Apparently, developers get to send out "review copies" via special codes.

I didn't know developers were doing this at all - have they done it before with WiiWare/DSiWare, or is this something new?

As I've seen, they have devs have done it before, and with the update they were able to do it on 3DS now too.
I was so disappointed when I missed the codes Kotaku gave away last night. Would have loved one of those.
