Title: Just My F#(%in' Luck.... >:(
Post by: BlackNMild2k1 on December 11, 2011, 04:30:14 PM
Thought i would make a thread about things that happen that you figured would happen but really hoped that they wouldn't. But it's always just your luck that it would....
So on Black Friday after waiting out in the cold for 5-6 hours to get that $200 TV @ Best Buy, they gave 9 out of the 10 available to the family in the front of the line who had been there since 8am Monday Morning. So to not have the entire wait be a waste, I decided that I should get something..... so I bought the HP 23" LED Monitor for $130 after tax.
I know i didn't need it and didn't really want it, but I held onto it thinking that maybe I can sell it for profit... after deciding against that, thought that I would return it since i could use that money towards other Xmas presents for other people and not treat myself this year first. So now I hold onto the monitor because I have a feeling that something will go wrong with my current monitor as soon as I return this one.
So 2 days ago I returned the monitor and joke with my friend how I felt something bad was gonna happen and if they would let me un-return it just in case. Today, while playing Zelda, I go to log onto my computer and the freaking monitor is PINK!!!! NOOOOOOOooOoOoOooooooOoOooO!! I knew this would happen....

If you buy another monitor and it goes pink, then you must immediately get another one and throw it in a ****-filled toilet two in the pink, one in the stink, of course.

Heartbreak, your monitor feels isolated and alone--hense pink. I can relate though, my freaking HDTV died right after I did house cleaning and tossed the warranty. Now I'm looking at $240+ to fix.

What's wrong with it? If it doesn't turn on (especially if it's a Samsung), it's probably as simple as replacing a single capacitor, and (if you have an iron and know how to use it) will probably cost about 40 cents to fix yourself.

Screen flickered to pink... well more of a red/pink tint across the entire screen.
it flickered back though, so all is good for now. It might have been a loose connection somewhere, but nothing has moved, and it's working now, so I've lost the motivation to investigate further.
But I know some of you out there have situations like this that you are just dying to get off your chest. It's time to vent peoples, let it out.

Yesterday I went to Universal Studios for the first time ever... when I got back, I attempted to start a thread detailing my experience.
I typed out almost all of my day when I grazed some button on this stupid laptop which made the browser go back. When I told it to go forward again, all of my text was gone.
WTF!!!
and it's not the first time this has happened and I still haven't figured out what that mystery button is that keep me hating using this damn laptop.
I had a nice OP going for that and I was excitedly writing it. Now I've said **** it... maybe later. So no new thread right now.
Just my fuckin luck though.

If it's less of a hassle you can instead record your experience for us to listen.

Backspace. :P
I went to universal Studios (in Orlando) a couple of years ago. It's really the only amusement park worth going to. Themed areas and attractions much for a much more interesting experience. If anything, I wish they would take it a step further and really go all out on the themed areas. This mentality is especially prevalent throughout the Islands of Adventure companion park. I'd imagine that California's resort is even better, given the more authentic backstage atmosphere.
The downsides? The park costs an arm and a leg (they all do) to go to or even be in and the traffic all throughout Orlando is scary as Hell itself. :P
