A recent issue of Nintendo Power released new details about the 3DS firmware update.

The details of Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS firmware update have finally been released. According to the December issue of Nintendo Power, the update will include 3D video recording, improved QR code functionality, the ability to transfer game files to another 3DS, additional puzzles and an additional dungeon in StreetPass Mii Plaza, improved eShop functionality, and the Nintendo Zone application.
The improved eShop functionally will include the ability to download demos of both downloadable and retail titles, as well as the ability download DLC for games. The eShop will also allow you to save your payment information, so you do not have to reenter it every time you add funds. And for promotions and the media, the eShop will begin supporting download codes for its games.
The 3DS firmware update is scheduled for December 8, 2011.
Cool beans, but what's "Nintendo Zone"?It's a application that you can get at Best Buy. You can use SpotPass to get sale offers, trailers, and other information. I wasn't able to get it to work the last time I tried it though.
Why is there still no gift feature for the eShop yet?Seriously.
