Click here to see actual gameplay pics of the game. It looks really nice although I don't care to much for how Kraid looks. Anyway after seeing this pic and this pic I'm convinced that Metroid: Zero Mission is a remake of Metroid.

Your not the only one, the title had me thinking that it was a remake and the pictures only lend credence to that theory. I'm sure or suspicions will be confirmed tomorrow.

I read somewhere that it was actually a prequel to Metroid.  Being the scatterbrain that I am, I cannot seem to remember where I read that.

whats wrong with a remake of the original Metroid.. that just gives me one less game I have to pull my old nintendo out for true it is becoming rather trendy..but I'm all for it keep em coming.. I think they should talk to sega and get some "Streets of Rage" action on the GBA now THAT would be awesome

Games Are Fun posted a short Zero Mission movie (it's on the left hand side, scroll down a bit) After watching the movie there is no doubt that it is a Metroid 1 remake. Obviously with some added abilities such as grabbing the edge of platforms like in Fusion.

It looks like it is going to be a great remake. I hope it has some GC connectivity features like Fusion. Maybe we can unlock Super Metroid that way. ;-)

If only Nintendo could have given Super Mario Advance 1-4 a similar treatment.
