Dozens of powers showcased.

New videos from Nintendo's Japanese website showcase many of Kirby's abilities and powers, including returning and newly unveiled copy abilities in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, which launches in two weeks.

First up is the intro in which the Lor Starcutter crashes into PopStar and Kirby and friends pledge their support to Magolor. The sequence even includes music from the cancelled GameCube version.

This video demonstrates Kirby's basic moveset.

The next video shows 13 powers that Kirby can gain. The new powers are Water, Leaf, Whip, and Spear. The featured returning powers are Sword, Fire, Ice, Bomb, Beam, Cutter, Fighter, Stone, and Ninja.

This video focuses on multiplayer footage.

An extended preview reveals additional powers, including the return of Needle, Parasol, Sleep, Hammer, Mike, Wing, Hi-Jump, Spark, Tornado, and Crash. The new Super Abilities are revealed as well, the Ultra Sword, Drago-Storm (Monster Flame), Gigaton Hammer, Snow Bowl, and Miracle Beam (Flare Beam). Over 20 powers are promised, and additional items such as one resembling a Kuribo's Shoe are showcased. One segment demonstrates a Beam charged through a stack of four players riding each other, which is fired at a boss.

The preview also contains footage of some of the minigames included in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, including score attack, a quick draw target game, and a laser targeting game.

Finally, a commercial has appeared.

The reason why Kirby's Epic Yarn was awesome, was because it didn't have infinite jump/fly, making the platforming interesting.

While this does look cool, I can't see how there can ever be any skill or danger when you can simply float over everything.

AKA The same old Kirby problem.

Every Kirby game where he doesn't just do his regular thing is usually great, Canvas Curse, Dream Course, Pinball even Mass Attack....anyone agree?

That last video shows some other powers- a punk-rock Kirby with a mohawk and microphone at 25 seconds, and maybe a tomahawk-wielding Kirby with headdress at 48 seconds?

Not sure if these are new to the series, but they look cool.

I respectfully disagree. A developer handling Kirby can make the games more challenging with the character's standard moves. They just choose not to.

I have issues with Nintendo games that stray too far from the source material. Not that Epic Yarn isn't fun or creative, but it's barely a Kirby game. Kirby can't copy abilities. How the hell is this a Kirby game? I recall reading that it wasn't even a Kirby game before Nintendo stepped in and asked Good Feel to change it.

I understand that this is done mainly for marketing reasons and with Nintendo of America's Nazi-like stance on non-established franchises, this is the only reason games like Kirby's Epic Yarn are even brought over. However, at one point, every major  Nintendo IP was brand new and they had to be introduced and nurtured into popular brands. I wish Nintendo would take more chances. A new IP allows for greater creative freedom. I would have loved to see what Kirby's Epic Yarn could have been if it wasn't trying to fit into the Kibry universe and be it's own thing at the same time.

Those are the Mike and Wing powers, which are not new and are in the same style as Kirby Super Star.

I can't wait for this game. My first Kirby game I remember was Super Star on SNES, and played the crap out of that game. So I've been a fan of the pink ball since. The animations for the super attacks are pretty cool too.

Wow, all the new video's show that this game truly is the successor to Super-Star.  Looks like the many years of waiting for this will be worth it.

I like how they added the Haduken to fighter Kirby and how Leaf Kirby is basically a pokemon.

Looks amazing! Can't wait!

Though I am sad that my favorite Copy Ability, the adorable "Animal" Kirby, isn't in this game =(
