Title: GBA SP Colors
Post by: NintendoKiD on May 11, 2003, 06:58:37 PM
At the moment what colors do the SP come in? Does it come in black? I want something to match my Cube. Any new colors coming within the next 2-3 months?

well at the moment there is Platinum, Cobolt and Black, i think it also comes in white, but that was a limited edition and japan only, as far as i know
also black isn't available in australia if you happen to reside there

The limited edition color is spice (orange), although there's a pokemon embossed on the back of that unit.

Hey I'm new to the forum and was just browsing and was really interested in this topic. Every since I saw my friends SP I wanted one but I really want one in black. Now I have seen them available online in a 110 and 220 version. Here's the question. Should I get a black one online? Where is a good place? should I get it now or wait till after E3 (rumor of price drop?) And if so, would the foreign version be compatible with our power plugs and all that. or would I just have to order a new cord from nintendo? lots of questions I know, but give a rookie a break

I'd wait 'til after E3, just because the price might drop. I can't see that you lose anything by waiting a few days either way. Whether the power will be compatible or not depends on where you're at. In the US I don't think it will be a problem, but if you're in Europe or Australia you'll need a new cable or a power converter. I don't have any clue what you mean by 110 and 220 versions, but oh well...
By the way, there are two limited edition colors for the SP so far. There's a Pearl White SP that comes with FFTA, and a Flame Orange SP (Pokécenter exclusive) with Achamo/Torchic emblazened on the front. They're both exclusive to Japan for now.

110 and 220 stands for the amount of AC current that the wall outlet is wired for. 110v is US/Japan and 220v is Europe/Australia, so make sure that you get the correct model for the region that you live in. By the way, the GBA SP is region friendly so you could import the black GBA SP from Japan and it would run all your US software.
