Title: New Shipment of Xenoblade Chronicles Arrives in the UK
Post by: NWR_MattB on September 19, 2011, 10:51:07 AM

Nintendo UK finally manages to clear up the shortage problems surrounding Xenoblade Chronicles.

After being unavailable for many weeks due to an overwhelming demand, Xenoblade Chronicles is now available once again from many UK retailers.

Many online stores such as Play.com and Zavvi now have the game in stock and ready to ship within 24 hours, while others, such as ShopTo, are still currently out of stock.

Xenoblade Chronicles was released in the UK in August and managed to crack the UK top 10 in its first week. Even though the game has been out of stock since then, it has managed to hang around the top 40 for over a month.

Nice timing, given the current NWR podcast discussion about importing.  Very tempting also since NoA still hasn't made any announcement about the Rainfall games outside of the "there are no plans to bring them over" line.

We're about to get a cheap, second-hand "beater" Wii to act as a Netflix box and I can see no reason why that one shouldn't be unlocked to enjoy a few imported games. Another Code R, Chibi Robo and Pikmin 2 NPC, Pandora's Tower, The Last Story, and Xenoblade... here we come!

NoE is making sure you have no excuse. I hope the predicted three-podcasts-about-xenoblade streak comes true and people realize just how much they need this game.

I'm really glad to hear that it's selling reasonably well.  Cracking the top ten is particularly impressive for a Wii game of this fashion.  This should throw some cold water on the "no one wants the game anyway" crowd that tried to claim the demand for this game was somehow fake or disingenuous.  Here's hoping NoA is paying attention like they said they would, although I suspect that even if they decide to release it they will have so badly missed the hype window for the game that sales will be hurt.

Thanks for the heads-up!    I just ordered a copy, and I can't wait to give it a try!

I added http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/pc/pyroblazer/10288638.html (http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/pc/pyroblazer/10288638.html) (1.85 GBP) to my cart and then used the code MVC30ZAV for 3 GBP off (of 30 GBP -- Xenoblade is 29.85 GBP).

Edit: Shipped this morning. I guess the stock really is replenished. Incidentally, Pyroblazer didn't ship yet.
Also, Zavvi has this annoying method of doing three credit card test transactions. They triggered a security alert on my account.

So, I finally got Xenoblade in. I was getting worried since Pyroblazer showed up after only a few days despite shipping a day after Xenoblade. Apparently, Pyroblazer was shipped from the UK, while Xenoblade came from Belgium, and that made a big difference.
