A 3DS sequel to the DS's Tomodachi Collection, also known as Friend Collection, was revealed at the Nintendo 3DS press conference.

The trailer consisted of a Mii couple re-telling their story. The trailer ends with the sound of a baby's cry. This confirms that the new edition of the game will have Mii families to raise.

No other details about the new game were revealed. The original never made it outside of Japan due to its voice synth needs.

I really hope this one gets localized. The technology is certainly capable now.

I'd imagine after the huge success it ended up having in Japan thanks to the insane word of mouth, they'll be designing this one with a western release in mind so the technology won't be a problem.  I remember that Iwata had NOA and NOE localize Rhythm Heaven because of how well it ended up doing in Japan, and since the original Friends Collection sold a million more then Rhythm Heaven, I'd say the 3DS version should be a lock for localization this time.
