Early adopters of the 3DS can now confirm their status.

The Ambassador confirmation page is available now for North America and Australia.
Players who already bought the 3DS prior to its price change can visit the page here and here for Australian players. Once they access the site, they must enter the serial number of the handheld (Tip: leave out the number in the square at the end if it doesn't work). The status will then be confirmed.
When this is completed, players will be able to receive free games to download onto their handhelds.
For (at least) North America, DO NOT enter the last digit of your serial number (the one in the square box) into the toolbar. If you enter every letter/number of your serial, it tells you that you aren't eligible, but without that last one, it tells you that you are. I'm gonna call NoA to make sure I'm squared away even though it told me that I was eligible.
Eligibility:
Undetermined
Information is not available for this serial number. We are not able to confirm your eligibility for the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program.

I'm confused... I entered EVERY digit and got the confirmation. I don't understand your argument. I also don't understand how it's possible to get the confirmation without every character typed in. Anyways, go ahead and call, but it worked for me. I think everyone should just type the number as they see it; then call Nintendo if it doesn't work out.
Hmm… I downloaded Let’s Golf 3D two weeks ago and when I entered my code BOTH upper case and lower case it said my “Information is not available for this serial number.” I also tried it with and without the last digit, it didn’t mater. I’m not worried because I can still prove I’m an ambassador (because I’ve received two Spotpass updates concerning it). But what’s the point of having a confirmation page if it only creates doubt in individuals like me who were confident in their enrollment in the first place? If I can’t confirm it soon then I will have a problem.
Important Note! Only Nintendo 3DS systems that performed the latest system update before 11:59pm Eastern August 18th, 2011 will be eligible to receive the free games.
Eligibility:
You are a Nintendo 3DS Ambassador!
Starting Sept. 1, Ambassadors will be able to download 10 NES™ Virtual Console™ games at no charge from the Nintendo eShop. By the end of 2011, Nintendo will also provide Ambassadors with 10 Game Boy™ Advance Virtual Console games. Look for more information soon.
Important: If you have not already done so, connect to the Nintendo eShop today to make sure you are ready to download your free games starting Sept. 1. (How To) Connecting to the Nintendo eShop for the first time after Sept. 1 could delay the availability of the games.
I got my 3DS with the price drop on the 11th at Wal Mart, rushing home, knowing that due to the time difference where I live, I only had 20 minutes to connect to the eShop to be eligible. I booted up the 3DS to find that it didn't come with current firmware, and I needed to update. I tried, but it kept failing. My time was up. The next morning I booted it up to try again, just for kicks. I found that I set the clock wrong (didn't convert to military) and that was the problem. I updated and got the eShop, but it was a bittersweet victory, I didn't meet the August 12th deadline. I sent an email to NOA customer support to see if they could throw me a bone, and got an email back saying that they were working with things and I'd get a reply by the end of the week. A day after this Serial Checker surfaced, I got 2(from different reps, not sure why, both form letters) saying I should check out my code to see if I'm eligible, and somehow, I made it. So yeah, I'm getting the 20 free games and I got the discount, which I probably would have never thought to do unless it had been mentioned on RFN.
