Title: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Release Date Set

Listen! Skyward Sword is coming out in November.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is coming out in North America on November 20, and in Europe on November 18, according to a press release from Nintendo.

The press release reiterated that the game's story is the precursor to Ocarina of Time, which recently saw a 3D remake on the Nintendo 3DS in June.

There is no word as to whether or not Skyward Sword, which requires the use of Wii MotionPlus, will come bundled with a MotionPlus device, much like previous MotionPlus-required games (Red Steel 2, Wii Sports Resort, FlingSmash, Wii Play Motion). At E3 2011, Nintendo revealed a Zelda-inspired gold Wii Remote Plus, but it is unknown how that will be distributed.

A Japanese release date was not confirmed, but given Nintendo's earlier hopes for a worldwide release, it's safe to assume that Japan will be receiving Skyward Sword around the same time, if not earlier.

This is the only Wii game I want to play this year. Well, at least the only one being released for North America that I want to play. I should be happy or excited, but more than anything I'm sad about it.

Yippi! November is going to roll around so fast. I remember as a kid 6 months felt like a life time. Well it is when you only have 3 or 4 years worth of memorable experiences.

Haven't bought any good Wii games all generation but I'll buy this along with Gears 3. Hopefully theyll have a bundle with the motion plus because I don't have that attachment.

Well, that release date isn't surprising, as it more or less falls into the traditional date previous Zeldas have used.  The real mystery for me will be whether NoA is going to change their minds on the Rainfall games before then, as that'll determine if I buy Zelda in a manner where they actually see money from it.

Great stuff! That'll be near enough 5 years to the day from the release of Twilight Princess. Fortunately, I'll have Xenoblade Chronicles to tide me over until then.

That's about what I was expecting for the date. It's a little close to the holiday season though, so I may not be buying it until after Christmas. I'll be tempted by that gold Wiimote though... I wonder how it will be offered.
