Title: Electronic Arts purchases PopCap Games

It was rumored awhile ago that Electronic Arts was looking at buying PopCap Games, today they announced that the rumor is true. EA announced today that they bought PopCap for $650 million plus $100 million in EA common stock. PopCap can also get up to $550 million in earn-outs if they hit certain 2013 financial milestones and they expect to close the deal in August. I am not too surprised since EA has shown a desire to expand their reach in social/casual games ever since they purchased Playfish, this is a good purchase for them. http://www.industrygamers.com/news/ea-has-purchased-popcap-for-650-million/
