Title: Random "Holy $&*! that can't be true" Thread
Post by: Stogi on May 23, 2011, 10:28:51 PM
So I just saw a story on AC360 about the latest super tornado and what damage it has done to the middle of Missouri. He featured a story, a crazy story about this kid who's gone missing.

This is the story...

Hearing the threat of a super tornado on the radio, this family hurries to get home together. The mother and daughter were ahead in one car, while the father and son were following about 30 secs apart in another. The women of the family make it home, grab their dog and head to the basement. The father soon calls asking them to open the garage door. This is where it gets a little murky, granted the daughter and mother were emotional when they told it. They lost communication with him and didn't know what happened until they received word he was in a hospital.  When they arrived to the hospital, he told them that the last thing he remembers is his truck flipping end over end; i.e. not barrel-rolling. They asked him where their son and brother went and he told them this....

He saw his seatbelt snap, the sun roof shatter, and then tried to grab him before he was sucked out into the sky. That's when the car flipped one more time and he lost consciousness.

Sucked out into the sky?! Holy ****.

Now the latest is that they found the son. They didn't give any details on where, which I hoped they would because I'm incredibly curious to see how far he traveled. He's been transferred from one hospital to another in a major city which I think indicates some sort of transplant surgery. He's alive though. I hope he makes it, not only because he's a fellow human being, but I want him to be able to tell that story. And when he does I bet people will say...

Holy **** that can't be true.

Something similar happened to the kid of some old college friends of mine a few weeks ago during the tornadoes in 'Bama, though it seems he made it out in much better shape than the kid in the story that you're referencing.

20 School lunches from around the world (http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/what-school-lunches-look-like-in-20-countries-arou). I can't $&#! believe Americans feed that to your pets children.

I would eat every dish from Japan and the French really enjoy their food. UK isn't exciting in anyway, but it's reasonably healthy. But the food in the US... I rather eat the stuff they are serving in the 3rd world than eat that.

Disgusting. I'm so glad my mommy packed my lunches and later on I was allowed to leave the school to go home or to a restaurant for lunch.

Singapore's lunch easily looks like the best. Fucking French. A whole baget for lunch. I don't know why, but soup seems like a very reasonable part of foreign dishes; one that the US seems to ignore except when fine dining. I wonder what Vietnamese school food looks like? Great big bowls of Pho? That'd be amazing.

Japan's #3 & 4 look good.

The Italian kids must be hungry after getting a forkful of pasta

Singapore's looks good

poor UK kids..... WTF is that?

France's #4 looks yummy

and the US's may not look that appealing in the pics, but I bet they taste all right
(better than Kenya, Honduras, Ghana & Djibouti :P)

Go have some really good food some time. Not necessarily restaurant food, but really good high quality food that is actually nutritious. You feel satisfied for the entire day. Food is about quality, not quantity, although I admit for most people quantity is the only thing you can get.

French and their FREEDOM FRIES. *American flag, crying Eagles and Hail to the Chief*

im glad my school lunch quality didnt suck until high school, in Georgia and Idaho I had great food, in Arizona I had shitty food. In high school though we had vendors sale us food so i either ate the schools surprisingly good (grilled)double bacon cheeseburgers(50% soy meat), or I ate Mr G's Burritos(Mr. G's is a Yuma Arizona mexican place that is fucking awesome), but Mr G's was only available on Fridays. In 7th and 8th grade it was appalling that they only served Pizza, and it was every day. It was shitty pizza too. So, I ate the salad bar every day instead.

In middle school we had cheeze zombies(one of the outdoor cafeteria items), pizza hut & taco bell, and whatever they had inside the cafeteria.

in HS we had Cheeze zombies, Hotdog in a Cheeze zombies, pizza hut, taco bell and then whatever they were serving in the cafeteria.

I did not mind eating at school.... actually I preferred it, everyday.

mix some mayo, ketchup, bbq sauce and a little hot sauce.

that's a nice fry/nugget dip that is easy to make using the condiments from some fast food/restaurants.

Mayo and fries is a dutch delight. It's not normal mayo, but like an extra garlic-y version. Needless to say, I stayed away from it.

Was I the only one that had open campus for lunch? In other words, the ability to leave the school to eat?

For most of my jr. high/high school career, I lived across the street from the school. So everyday I would dip back home and grub out while playing some video games or later on, blaze down and smash a few brews.

If we had open campus at any of my schools, then there would be alot of empty classrooms during the last third of the day.... 5 days a week.

So I heard a tornado siren go off a little while ago, so naturally I check the tv to see what's going on. Turns out there's a giant storm encompassing my entire state.
