Title: I got a 3DS, what now?
Post by: BranDonk Kong on May 09, 2011, 01:10:57 PM
I only paid $125 for it (brand new). Would have preferred the black one, but it's the green/black one, either way I couldn't pass up the deal. So, I don't have any games yet...is there anything worth buying or should I just keep holding out?

Pilot Wings is pretty great, and SSFIV3D is too but only if you like fighting games. Rayman 3D is passable.

SSFIV:3D is like playing with action figures. If you like fighters on any level then get this. Don't forget to set up all your Streetpasses. It took me a while to figure that it wasn't setup by default. I like Super Monkey Ball but most people don't.

Samurai warriors Chronicles is an awesome, hectic game that seems to cause an allergic reaction in critics.
Ghost Recon is a good TBS game by the dude who made X-Com.

I'm pretty much set on SSFIV, Monkey Ball, Steel Diver, Riiiiiidge Racer, and Pilot Wings, even though the demo was boring. Hopefully I get something relatively soon.

I'm dying for the eShop to launch. I wish we had a date.

You mean the demo in the kiosk at Best Buy (or other stores), right? Yup, it's boring as hell. But once you start playing and get past the 3rd mission, or maybe the 2nd time you get 3 stars? You'll be hooked, I swear. According to my activity log, I've put 17 hours into it, and I'm not quite done yet.
Steel Diver is definitely not getting enough love around here, mainly because it's both different and ridiculously difficult (after mission 5). But once you learn how to really control the subs, it becomes magnificent.
