Title: Picture Organizing Software
Post by: Ceric on May 06, 2011, 04:24:51 PM
Hello,
We have an eclectic mix of folks here. Has anyone ran across a piece of software where you can load in your photos and it will create a timeline using timestamps and do the map thing if they have geolocation tags? I want to send my pictures for the last 8 years to my grandparents and it be cool if I could provide them with a map of where and a timeline of when. Do you think their might be a market for something like this?

I'm not sure, but shouldn't Google's Picasa do something like that?
Google does geo-location on android phones and Picasa is a part of the Google Network. I've never tried it, but it shouldn't take you long to check.

I'm pretty sure that Picasa will tag the location. I'm not 100% on that though, as I simply use it as a viewer and screensaver. :P
Edit: Apparently my reply was superseded by mere seconds. Damn you BlackNMild!

I'll check Picasa at home and see.

windows....if you search all pics, and then organize them by creation, and then move them to folders based on where in line they stand, and then you use an adobe photoshop action to put a number on it. I'd organize them by year first, then month..i wouldnt worry about individual days so much though.
