Of course the Super Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime box art was pretty mediocre too so it's possible that this is close to the final box art. A lot of Nintendo's Cube games have had very lazy box art where they obviously just used some of the promotional art they released months earlier.

But yeah, i agree, i want the box art to be more akin to F-Zero X. Full of action, crashes, and all the characters.

Ten or so of the vehicles blasting forward down a straight-away, all of which are coming out of a big explosion and the center vehicle being (of course) Captain Falcon while being flanked by Dr. Stewart and Pico. Behind the explosion is a group shot of as many of the drivers as you can fit on the box, standing in a cone-like ( < ) shape, so that one driver is standing in the center, with the rest of the drivers flanking that driver to his left and right. Of course, this would most likely be Falcon, yet again. Have Mute City in the background, with the tallest buildings in the center of the background.
...I don't it'll look that cool though!

In F-Zero for the SNES, the green character you speak of is named Pico. Yeah, there are SOME similarities (the green skin... ok, that's about it), but no, they are certainly not related in any way.

Anyway Matthew's strange observations aside.....the box art for F-Zero GX just flat out sucks. I mean with all the cool vehicles in F-Zero.....we get a lame and huge picture of Capt. Falcon with a smaller picture of him in his vehicle. What gives Nintendo....jeez its bad enough they botched Metriod Prime's box art....whats next? What does the 'X' in F-Zero X stand for?
I think that if we never know the answer to this question, so will it be with F-Zero GX.
It can't be '5', since F-Zero X is the second game in the series, and F-Zero GX is the fourth.
So what can it possibly mean? Only E3 can tell. If not, then the answer will remain in the bowels of Sega and Nintendo.

That just sounds so funny. I wonder if there's anyone out there who thinks that SSB is all original characters and Nintendo has been making all these spinoff games using SSB characters. "Hey that Mario guy has his own game. COOL."

so No F-Zero X was not the tenth in the series...
but...
It was just a letter to distinguish it
without having to add a number to the end
just something that sounds cool like

also...Wasn't there a 64DD version of F-Zero,
an addon pack with a track editor or something?
anyways...that has nothing to do with it this now
Anyways I think GX is just a set of letters to make it sound cool
