I'd never be able to narrow it down to just three. My "top" musicians vary on the day, week, or month... from mood to mood. Of course, there are a lot of musicians that stay consistently relevant to my tastes throughout all. How about this... instead of arbitrarily picking three bands on the spot, why don't I just flip through my collection (CDs, MP3s, records, etc) and tell you want I have the most of. Surely that will at least give some indication of preference? :P

I know my favorite two, because I like or love every song they've made, but the third is difficult because there are no other musicians/bands I like that much, so I'll pick the closest:
1. TOOL 2. Staind 3. Nas

not necessarily what I listen to most, but if I had to give awards, it breaks down like this:
1)Michael Jackson 2) Led Zeppelin 3) Eminem
Me personally...
1) Portishead 2) Air 3) Fiona Apple

Like Morari said, this question is impossible. I feel that music is a 6th sense, one that either adds or detracts from what you're doing, where you are, or how you feel.
So when I hear this question I can't help but laugh.
