Six mysterious London deaths famously attributed to the 'Curse of Tutankhamun' were actually murders by notorious Satanist Aleister Crowley, a historian claims in a new book.
My Take: This Satanist Cult still stalks the streets of London, where will they strike next?

lol as i said in facebook. You know how when a meteor or astroid travels through the atmosphere it gets this huge stream of plasma around it? This is like that except in reverse. The object is staying still and the atmosphere is moving around it. The object is probably made out of a dull rock that doesnt reflect light very well, probably one that withstands a fair amount of heat. It probably isn't more than a meter across, and what happens is it diverts the flow of the solar flair for miles. Here's an experiment to try. Go out in a backyard find a rock and get your garden hose. Take your thumb and put it over the hose so you get some strong stream, aim it at the rock, see how the rock deflects the stream?

so i took an hour to make a 3d model of whats going on.

Post by: ThePerm on December 20, 2011, 08:41:06 PM
well the point is you can't see the rock because your 43 million miles away and its only a meter long, but the second explanation is way better...its just a video glitch from artifacting. If you take the raw images and don't compress them and then animate them, then you don't see any object.

Siberia is a huge and sparsely populated region, so its not impossible for a herd of mammoths to have survived there. There was some fish scientists thought died out millions of years ago, but it was discovered off the coast of Africa in the 1930s and mammoths only supposedly went extinct a few thousand years ago, so if something thought to have been extinct millions of years ago can turn up then something that only went supposedly extinct a few thousand years ago still being around in some remote place shouldn't be much of stretch.
It is also possible Neanderthals may exist in remote parts of Central Asia too. There are stories there and sightings of creatures the locals call Almas which matches up with what we know about Neanderthals.

Ok, so, I don't want to start a new thread, and I don't want to resurrect an almost 1 year old thread about Google Chrome, and I spent an entire day trailing a stupid ass issue and I want to rant about it... and it seems to me that it truly is an unexplained phenomena.
Anyway, I developed a captcha method that seems to work fairly well against some of the stupid bot programs. But some people for some reason beyond me have issues with browsers that won't play nice with form fields that have randomly generated names. Whatever. I wrote a new captcha that does a random math question (I have since seen a similar idea used in a Wordpress plugin).
The problem I came across was Chrome seemed to be reloading the page and then submitting the form when the Submit button is clicked. I checked the session data before sending, and then after, and the expected answer that was stored had changed. WTF?? Checking IE8, no problem. I should have checked Firefox, but really all that matters is it worked with one browser and not another.
What was really getting me was that this method was deployed on several other sites with no issue. Just this one site. So it was driving me batty why Chrome was fucking this up and not others. Finally I figured it out, and its pretty stupid. I had to change the styling of the body element. Originally I had <body style="background: #ffffff;">. After removing that and sticking it in a <style type="text/css"> block in the head, no more problem.
Is that considered a security risk? Seems a bit odd to me. I know that its not ideal to specify the style in the element tag, but I didn't think it violated any rule... Oh well. Its an issue solved and I only wasted an entire fucking day on it. Thanks Chrome.

I got an unexplained phenomena.
For some reason, over maybe 8 square blocks that include my house, the sky at night is a bright as it would be in the middle of the country. If you go in any direction, it becomes effected by light pollution in a noticeable way, even if you head further out of town towards the boonies. I can't figure out why that is. We have the same street lamps everyone else does. It's kinda crazy.
