Title: Mega Man X Coming to Japanese Virtual Console Next Week
Post by: Crimm on April 01, 2011, 12:40:58 PM

The SNES reboot of the Mega Man franchise is the only VC game listed on the week's upcoming games.

Mega Man X (Rockman X in Japan) is coming to the Japanese Virtual Console April 5, according to the recently updated Japanese Virtual Console list. The SNES classic will retail for 800 Wii Points.

Square Enix's Chrono Trigger and SNK's King of the Monsters 2 were both recently announced for Virtual Console, along with Mega Man X. Both of those games are still without a release date.

Hopefully this is a sign that the north American Virtual Console might pick up if we are lucky. I am not sure if I want Chrono Trigger because I have it for my DS and PS 1, but I would love to play the game with my SNES controller adapter on my Wii and prefer older titles to be digital download anyway.

My Wii won't play either Mega Man Collection (GC) so I may actually pick this up if it ever comes stateside...

That's cool Halbred. I'd train my consoles to not play Capcom games but I think they know better already.

I played the Mega Man X Collection on GC back when it first released, and honestly I only really enjoyed replaying the first MM X.  2 and 3 were just OK, and the rest of the games on the collection were just "blah".  So even though it's not the best value one can get for these games, I might actually pick up this one when it hits the VC since it's really the only one I want to replay.  Plus, this was the game that sold me on getting a Super NES back in the day (I was over at a friend of my mom's who had a SNES and a copy of MM X, and playing it convinced me to hassle my parents into selling my NES and getting a SNES for Christmas).

It is very derogatory, Zap.

It's ok, I say derogatory things to my secretary all the time. That's why I call her an answering machine.

I wouldn't mind having Treasure of Rudras and all the other Aquare SNES RPGs over here on Virtual Console.
