In the very early morning on the European Nintendo 3DS launch day, a free 3DS game is on offer to the first to buy the handheld at either HMV Oxford Street, the flagship store for the UK launch, or at one of 13 additional 'VIP' launch stores. Additionally, there are over 1,300 stores confirmed to be opening at midnight on the night of March 24 for console sales starting from 00:01 on March 25.
At HMV Oxford Street, early arrivals will receive a Nintendo launch-night pack, which includes a space blanket, a launch t-shirt, a special edition of ONM UK magazine and other Nintendo rewards. The first 500 in the queue will be able to claim one 3DS game of their choice with their console purchase, free of charge. The very first customer will earn a free taxi home, useful as the underground trains stop running in London around this time. Instore entertainment is set to include on-stage battles on Super Street Fighter IV 3D and Pro Evolution Soccer, with Capcom's Yoshinori Ono, Street Fighter producer, confirmed to be attending a launch event.
The additional 13 stores, listed in the table below, will have limited numbers of free games, and also the free taxi for the first customer.
