The classic dodgeball game will see a rebirth on the downloadable game service.

The classic Technos NES title, Super Dodgeball, will be remade and released for WiiWare in the near future.

Developer Miracle Kidz has released screenshots to confirm the upcoming release of the remake. Known in Japan as Downtown Nekketsu Dodgeball, the title will be a re-arrangement of the classic NES title, including new AI and gameplay features. Players will be able to control their own teams in matches and customize the AI of the other characters to their liking. Modes confirmed include a tournament mode and a match mode for up to two players.

The Super Dodgeball remake is set to hit WiiWare in May.

If they bump the player count up to 4, I might be tempted. Otherwise, I'll stick with the NES version.
