This is going to sound really stupid, but I still haven't been able to figure it out. What does the score by everyone's name mean (you know, where it says Score: (0+/0-)? What makes it change? I am totally baffled.

Soooo, what do you see just below people's score? Might be a correlation there...
We'll generally applaud you for being funny or helpful or insightful, and smite you for being lame, a silly goose, or just because someone is in a bad mood. In fact, I'll probably be smited just for telling you our secrets. Damn it.

RagnaBlade it basically doesn't really mean that much. It is basically there to show how much people on the forum like you or dislike you. Just below the persons name is an applaud and smite button which you can click to applaud or smite a particular post. Applaud and smite are basically the like and dislike buttons for a particular person.

There must be something wrong with my browser or something then, because those buttons do not appear for me. Does anyone know why that might be? I'm using Chrome.

It might be because these dumb forum apes forgot to tell you that you need 1,000 posts before the feature will appear.
