Title: Okamiden Demo Playable From Nintendo Channel

A playable demo of Okamiden is available to download from the Wii's Nintendo Channel to a Nintendo DS from today, for a limited period of time.

The demo lets you try the celestial brush on the DS touch screen, battle enemies, meet some of Chibiterasu's partners, and see a small part of the world of Okamiden.

Okamiden is a direct sequel to Okami on Wii and was released in Japan last September. It will be available in North America from March 15, Europe from March 18, and Australia from March 31.

This is typical for a Japanese-style demo... it's all about teaching you the controls and does very little to show the actual experience of playing the game. I still don't know whether puzzles, platforming, combat, or drawing on the screen will be fun... I just know how to do them.

This demo is short and sort of well... unfun. I disliked everything except the battle. I still might pick it up though if reviews hint at a good story.

Why waste my time downloading a tutorial when I know I'm going to have to go through it when I buy the game.
