Apparently miss nature wasn't happy enough with flooding the hell out of south east queensland, so now she wants to hit the northern end of it with a cyclone or two. This one is coming straight for us. And there is another one near vanuatu that the weather fellas are watching closely. They reckon it will make its way here and have winds of over 300kph.

Now we have another one on the way. This one dwarfs the one mentioned earlier. We have been encouraged to evacuate our place due to an expected storm surge which will bring in a possible 9m of water.
Poor Queensland is getting flogged.

I don't think we call those cyclones up here in the Northern hemisphere, we call them hurricanes. Or maybe that was an Pacific vs. Altantic thing. Where does the typhoon fit in again? Also there are tornadoes.

Typhoons are common Chinese/Japanese name for Cyclones/Hurricanes in the West Pacific. Cyclones are south of the equator and hurricanes are mostly and American/Atlantic naming thing. They are all the same thing, but in meteorology they are all cyclones. Due to Coriolis effect they spin in opposite directions.
Tsunami (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsunami) and Tidal waves (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidal_wave) ARE NOT the same thing.

Didn't you guys just have massive flooding, and now that is gonna be followed up with a massive hurricane(in relation to the size of AUS)... I think someone is trying to tell all of you something.

Damn , good thing that isn't going to hit NZ, it would swallow us whole.
You better get out or nail anything that is smaller than a car down into concrete. I had a look at some of cloud top artifical sat imagery and it's off the charts. The thing is so tall it doesn't fit on the scale.

Yes we did bnm. That was central and south east Queensland. Luckily for them.
This is coming for us in north Queensland. Poor innisfail will cop the brunt of it. And they had cyclone Larry a few years ago which was a 4. This one has since been upgraded to a 5.
